Provincial nomination Program ( PNP )

Provincial nomination Program ( PNP )

Most provinces and territories in Canada can nominate immigrants to meet their specific employment and business needs through this unique fast track program. PNP targets skilled workers of occupations in high demand, international graduates and business people.

PNP is tailored to the province's or territory's specific needs to select nominees who have the skills, education and work experience and will be able to settle into life and work in the region and effectively contribute to the community. Each province or territory has a different program stream and a selection process through which it may target students, business people, skilled workers or semi-skilled workers.

There are basically two types of PNP programs. Skilled worker PNP program allows expedited processing for skilled workers that have a job offer from a local provincial business in an occupation or business sector that meets local provincial needs.

The second type of program is business immigration PNPs which allow expedited immigration processing if the applicant establishes a new business; invests money or joint ventures with a local business.

Quebec has a special separate immigration program.
